Cut through the Lies

Politicians lie, exaggerate, obfuscate, spin, and
manipulate your base fears.  So, what?

So, what happens for me is I lose my sense of humor.  I
descend from skeptical, which I view as healthy, to
cynical, which I find to be dark, oppressive, hopeless, and
no fun.

Here’s a cure go.  Read www.FactCheck.org every time you
see a political advertisement.  Or better yet, skip the ads
and just read what the scrupulously non-partisan folks at
Fact Check have to say.

These folks rate the veracity of political campaign ads.
Recently, in the US campaign, you may have seen some real
stinkers.

If you live outside the U.S., you may still find the site
humorous and useful, but look inside your own borders for
similar sites.  Surely, this valuable site will have
imitators.  Then again, no-one delivers the same barrage of
ads over such a long time as the U.S.A. does.

Blessings,

William

P.S. A good antidote to BAD political ads is A MAGIC
MESSAGE from Uncle Mike —

If you ask me, William, I’d say the main thing to keeping
the main thing the main thing, is reminding yourself as
often as you can of where the most joy will come from.

         Ain’t no thing –

             The Universe

If you aren’t getting these magic messages from Uncle Mike,
read my review of Mike’s goodies including this fabulous
freebee.

P.P.S. You have my permission to share this story with no
more than three people.
