Awakenings & Pilgrimages

A lovely crew of us met to explore the idea of pilgrimages. Everyone took a short journey out to the shoreline and the tide flats into the heart and nature and returned with epiphanies.

Obviously, this was powerful for people. Genius showed up. Everyone contributed wisdom.

What do these insights have to do with pilgrimages?

  • surrender
  • allowing
  • renouncing
  • what’s important?
  • what’s too heavy to carry?
  • expectations
  • hope – as in the power of giving up hope.
  • faith
  • messiness (we even learned a professional carpet cleaner’s trick – it worked.)
  • “The 2×4 comes to all.”
  • “Let your curiosity be greater than you fear.”
  • living deliberately

Obviously, the wonderful people who attended are scheduling their return for more goodies. If you’re in Seattle, discover for yourself what they know.

Hearing other people’s stories helped. We are not alone. – KR Renton

Connections with others and with nature moved people deeply – phenomenal experiences at the beach.

How can we carry the power of pilgrimage with its epiphanies into our daily journeys?

Play with This – commit to a 100-day practice. Everyday for the next 100 days, go outdoors, alone, and connect. Intention makes all the difference. You can do this in just a few minutes of deliberate living.

One response to “Awakenings & Pilgrimages

  1. The answer to William’s curiosity about the word “renounce” =>

Middle English renouncen, from Old French renoncer, from Latin renúntiâre, to report : re-, re- + núntiâre, to announce (from núntius, messenger).

So it means you/I need to let people know.
