Explore, ponder, and play with these potentially life changing ideas so you can be happy, wild, and free.

In these periodic posts, I will share ideas that currently move me in some way.  I’ll be drawing from the books I’m reading, films, blog posts, conversations, and personal ponderings.

I share these to further you on your journey to being happy, wild, and free.

The Oracle Quote

The oracle quote returns today.  Yay.

Quotations act as little doorways into new worlds and new perceptions. They consist of distilled genius.

My software angels choose this oracle quote for you today :

116)    My favorite piece of music is the one we hear all the time if we are quiet.  — John Cage.

Healing Power of Whimsy

Whimsy by Seattle Life coach William WittmannI love creating Zentangles.  (See posts here and here.)

I did this one on Thursday and was really surprised by how happy I felt.  Something about the whimsy of this one that allowed me to be happy, wild, and free.

I felt free to do anything I wanted without the restriction of it having to be “good” or “meaningful”.  This felt liberating.  The Zentangle felt playful, which may be the most “good” possible for me?  For you?

How to Build Trust

How to build trust?  One sure way – Do what you say you’re going to do.  Keep your word.

A nuance – keep your word to yourself.  Self trust moves you to being happy, wild, and free.  I promise.

This means set boundaries – don’t over promise.  Promise only what you can deliver.

I’ve been listening to Brenée Brown read me her current book — Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone.

One of my brilliant clients recommend the audio version to me.  I recommend it to you.  She talks about trust, and boundaries, and ideas that will help you to gain true belonging.

I recommend all her books to clients and to you.  Go for it => https://amzn.to/2vruDas

Supporting Journalists and Democracy

George Lakoff in a recent blog post reminds us that the first thing that any despot does is take over the newspapers, etc.  It starts by attacking them.  Our current minority president is doing just that.  Lakoff recommends supporting newspapers, local and national.  And thank the journalists you like.

Jon Talton at the Seattle Times, said  I made his day, his week, when I thanked him and said I was a subscriber and was donating to the paper.

Be careful not to get caught in reading the news too much.  Some folks can handle it others like me get wrapped up in fights over right and wrong.

Just let the news inform your actions… If it’s not something you can do anything about, let it go and act where you can.
